Flexible Cables : Critical to Moving Applications

Flexible cable, which is sometimes called chain-suitable, high-flex, or continuous flex cable, is made to withstand constant bending. These cables are great for moving applications.

Where are they used?

Flexible Cables are used for automated machinery, machine tools and special applications. Robotics cable, for example, is completely flexible. Electrical cables are flexible too, with flexible wire wound around reels and drums and shipped to installation sites.

Flexible cords contain fine stranded conductors, not solid core conductors, and have insulation and sheaths to withstand the forces of repeated flexing and abrasion.

Quality Inspection

Quality control is very important for flexible cables - especially if it is used for mission critical applications like medical cable or military cable.

Many companies deliver value-added services for cutting and marking tubing and wire, striping and dyeing wire, and custom cable assemblies. Reliability and ability to deliver on time are important criteria of cable companies.

FEATURES

  • Resistant to temperature extremes
  • Excellent electrical properties
  • Easily stripped
  • Light weight
  • Corona resistant
  • High radiation resistance

Applications for Siliflex Single Conductor Wires

  • Pliable and flexible even in the high voltage and high altitude conditions of aerospace
  • Extremely suitable for biomedical use where flexible instrumentation cables are needed. A type of SiliFlex is available that will meet FDA standards
  • Robotic and sensor cables requiring flexibility and low noise.
